This beautiful
region with the 70 kilometre long Lake Balaton
at its heart is truly worth exploring not just
for its curative caves and waters but for its
history, its Vineyards, its stunning scenery
and prolific Wildlife. Sailing, swimming, hunting,
fishing, bird watching, cycling along its miles
of dedicated paths, walking and just relaxing
on the shores of the lake, which is the largest
in Central Europe. Hévíz, which is only a short
drive from Lake Balaton is one of the main therapeutic
centres of Hungary.

thermal lake in central Europe, with a temperature

The
Lake of Hévíz
Heviz
is one of the best-known Spa resorts in Europe.
It's located in the Pannon basin in the area
of Lake Balaton.
The lake is nourished
by a thermal source from an early geological
period. Its composition is truly unique; the
water has an average summer temperature of 33-35c
and in winter rarely falls under 24c even if
there is snow on the ground!
The
mud of Hévíz lake
The
curative effect of the mud covering the bottom
of the lake is especially strong. Its heat storing
capacity is very high which along with its powerful
organic plant fibre, calcium, sulphate and magnesium
components provides an excellent curative treatment.
